In the spring of 2013, we visited the Tamgaly site, located west of Almaty. The trip took an entire day, as it’s about 500 kilometers round trip. This is a fascinating place with around 5,000 petroglyphs, where you can feel the spirit of time and the many generations who lived in this area. You could spend hours studying the puzzles left by ancient people on the black flat stones scattered across the steppe.
Our guide, Konstantin, arranged for a local expert to join us, who shared many fascinating details about the ancient rock art. The tour was incredibly informative, and the lunch prepared by Konstantin was delicious.
Thank you so much!
