We drove along a very scenic road through the mountains, with almost no one else around. Along the way, we saw a massive burial mound of the ancient inhabitants. Alexander treated me to some delicious barbecue at a roadside café and prepared an amazing lunch in the canyon.

The canyons are incredible—a very unusual landscape. It’s like mountains in reverse: first, you go down into the earth, and then you climb back up. You can see many layers of geology right before your eyes.
