There’s very little information about visiting Kazakhstan as a tourist, so we decided to fill this gap—especially since our friend had lived in the country for a while. We booked a trip with a local guide, Konstantin, who is a passionate traveler and knows these places incredibly well.
We were often amazed at the places you can reach by car! We also took a several-hour hiking tour, and it was absolutely impressive. It felt like we were on another planet—soft clay and other rock formations created unbelievable combinations of colors and shapes.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much reliable information about this place in guidebooks or online, but we highly recommend seeing it for yourself. And you should definitely take a hike through the area to truly experience it. Most tourists just visit the colorful mountains and leave right after.
We spent three days in the park, staying one night in a simple hotel and another night camping, which was both fun and comfortable. Konstantin also told us about several other fascinating natural spots worth visiting if you have a few extra days. Maybe next time!
