We spent 10 days rafting, first a small section along the Charyn River to the Ili River and further to the Kapchagay reservoir. Then, with Konstantin’s help, we transported the kayaks below the dam and continued the journey to the confluence of the Ili River and Balkhash. There we loaded into cars and drove to the city of Almaty. In this way, we sailed along a certain part of the route of the trade caravans of the “Great Silk Road”. Thanks to Konstantin and his team for their help in organizing transfers and other organizational matters.
